ABOUT CARTIER CASA
Born & Raised in Cleveland Ohio on 131st and Benwood, Casa along with his 2 siblings & Single parent mother, life was a struggle growing up in a poverty-stricken ghetto, full of drug addicts, dope dealers & robbers and unfortunately it didn’t take long before Casa got involved with the negativity he saw outside his doorstep. Although Casa strayed in the streets his first love was writing, he wrote plays, movies, and music at a young age. Rap turned into his passion and he began winning talent shows in schools, rap battles through different neighborhoods and eventually started recording.
Once studios got into play he slowly started to develop his style & his sound, learning how to manipulate his voice and what he could do comfortably over a track and also what needed work. Casa got respected as a lyricist with bars & metaphors that made his peers & other artists say it was impressive and that lead to doing numerous features in the early stages of his premature rap career. Unfortunately, Casa couldn’t take his talents to the finish line before getting in legal troubles a few times, then ultimately landing in the county jail for 7 months with the main charge being aggravated robbery. While in jail he became even more focused on his music and his name actually spread through the county as the nicest rapper on his pod and one of the nicest in the jail.
Once released he was put on probation & went into overdrive. With one foot in the streets and one foot in the 9 to 5 to appease his probation quota he stayed writing and recording which paid off and his song “Polo Song” hit rotation on Cleveland’s hip-hop station z1079. After a few years, He was released from probation & quit the job his P.O assigned him the same day to focus on the music & the streets. His song still played on the radio and That boost gave him the confidence and drive to continue to go hard & eventually linking with other artists in the city he formed his own label for a short time.
Casa moved from Cleveland to Miami in 2014 in search of more financial opportunities to help build his company, Things were on a fast pace & soon as it looked to be close to securing a major distribution deal the streets caught up with him and Casa was shot January 6, 2016. Paralyzed & in critical condition it took surgery, screws in his back, & months of physical therapy to learn how to walk again, the doctors originally thought he would never walk again, even then he had producers coming to his hospital bed to come with music because he was determined to get out of that place and back on his path to musical dominance not even a bullet to the spine was going to stop him.
Casa has faced a string of adversity to much to mention but through it all whether it be betrayal, jail time, shootings or worse he never stopped his focus on his dream and his undying love for music & making songs. And it’s made him resilient and more determined than ever to break out and become an artist that everyone can in some capacity relate too, and even if you can’t relate to his story you can enjoy his music because his focus isn’t to be a street rapper it’s to be a complete artist who can get on a song with anyone from Pusha T to Drake to Katy Perry & write a masterpiece for Adele all the way down to the Goo Goo Dolls or The Weekend. Consistency and versatility is his goal and to never be able to get boxed in by a specific label. Music transcends labels and his goal is to make the best music he can deliver.
